Equity and Justice For, By, and With Each Other: A Presentation and Discussion of our Work Towards NMC’s DEIJ Guiding Document
Presenter: Julia Desmarais, a former teacher and member of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice team at Grace Academy
NMC’s strategic plan focuses in part on aiming to Innovate and Adapt Best Practices Rooted in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) Principles. As part of this work, a committee is working on creating a guiding document for NMC schools that highlights the strong work being done by individual schools in our network as well as innovative research going on in the education and DEIJ spaces.
Join us for a brief presentation about the work being done on this project and what we have learned from our schools thus far, followed by a roundtable discussion about what conference participants would like to see in this document, how it can serve our schools best, and what exciting practices are already going on in our member schools.
