San Miguel Academy of Newburgh is proud to announce the appointment of Henry Garcia to its Board of Trustees, marking the first time a graduate of the Academy has been named to the Board.
A member of San Miguel Academy’s Class of 2011, Henry embodies the transformative power of the SMA program. With support from the Grandview Scholarship, he continued his education at Canterbury School in New Milford, CT, where he distinguished himself as a student leader, serving as student body president, dorm proctor, peer counselor, and Sacristan. He later attended Fairfield University, becoming the first in his family to graduate from college, earning a B.A. in Political Science in 2019.
At Fairfield, Henry deepened his commitment to education as a Senior Admissions Fellow, interviewing prospective students and supporting families through the admissions process. After graduation, he launched his career in Washington, D.C., working in the background screening industry with Thomson Reuters before moving into his current role as an account manager at Fama, an AI-powered online screening company that helps organizations identify risks and create safer workplaces.
“For me, giving back to San Miguel Academy is deeply personal,” said Henry. “The program provided me with access, opportunity, and mentorship that continue to shape my life’s trajectory. My service on the Board is a way to ensure that future generations have the same support.”
Henry now lives in Tampa, FL, with his wife, Natalia, a fellow Fairfield alum, and their two young sons.
