St. Ignatius Loyola Academy (SILA) is proud to share that Kevin Marshall is the 2025 recipient of the National Educator Award for Outstanding Environmental Stewardship, also known as “The Buddy”.
Kevin is a Teacher and Student Activities & Service Director at SILA, which is located in Baltimore, MD. He has been a champion of environmental education and youth engagement for over a decade. Kevin is a proud SILA alum, and he has played a vital role in the school’s Buddy Bison School Program since 2018. His leadership has helped every student at the school, across all four grades, connect with the outdoors through hands-on learning experiences that incorporate park exploration woven into their academic curriculum year-round.
From organizing local and national park visits to leading activities that inspire stewardship, Kevin’s impact goes far beyond the classroom. He also served as the Park Trust’s Youth Programs Fellow for the past two years, providing guidance to the organization’s board and supporting efforts to expand youth engagement nationwide.
We join St. Ignatius Loyola Academy in celebrating Kevin’s recognition and encouraging his great work to educate the whole child.
