San Miguel DC Alum Embraces Entrepreneurship

We join San Miguel School of Washington, DC celebrating its alum, Ivan Marroquin. Ivan graduated from San Miguel DC in 2018. Ivan graduated from Gonzaga College High School in 2022 and currently attends the University of Maryland, where he is pursuing a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business.

Ivan has achieved academic success and is also a dedicated entrepreneur. He already runs his own business, Ivansupply, a company dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and making exclusive footwear accessible to all.

After he graduates, Ivan hopes to do marketing or supply chain management for a company like Nike or Under Armor. When reflecting on his middle school days, he reported: "San Miguel School set me up perfectly to be the person who I am today."

Good luck with your budding business, Ivan, and we can't wait to see how far your entrepreneurial spirit takes you!

Xavier Jesuit Academy Goes Green

Thanks to a generous grant from Hamilton County ReSource, Xavier Jesuit Academy is going a little more green. The school has installed a high-efficiency dishwasher and purchased reusable cafeteria items, which allows the it to eliminate thousands of single-use plastics daily. The project will cut XJA’s cafeteria waste by one-third, diverting up to 64 gallons of trash from the landfill every day!

We celebrate XJA as it embraces going green year round. What a great example of sustainable practices for its students!
